Being donor-conceived may be an important part of how you understand yourself, one part of who you are, or something whose meaning changes over time.

You may have always known, found out recently, or still be making sense of what it means for you. You may want information, answers or contact—or you may not. There is no single right way to feel or move forward.

Understanding your story
Information about donor conception, available records, legal rights, medical history and questions that may remain unanswered.

DNA testing
What to consider before taking a DNA test, what different results might bring, privacy, and the possible impact on you and others. Choosing not to test is also a valid decision.

Identity and belonging
Exploring what genetic connections, family relationships and donor conception mean to you.

Identity is not fixed: its meaning can change throughout life.

Donors and donor siblings
Searching, not searching, accessing information, making contact (or choosing not to). Preparing for different expectations, boundaries and possible relationship outcomes.

Family, friends and communication
Deciding what you want to share, with whom and when; managing privacy, questions, misunderstandings and stigma; and navigating conversations that may remain difficult even when others already know.

Coping and wellbeing
Making space for mixed feelings, managing uncertainty and emotionally difficult moments, and finding peer or professional support when needed.
